Best WiFi Printers for iPad and iOS Apple Gadgets
Wireless printing from the increasingly popular Apple tablet is maturing thanks to the latest round of AirPrint enabled iPad tablet printers that are now shipping from HP and Canon. While initially a weak point, recent updates to Apple's iOS handheld operating system have brought more powerful wireless printing functions to iPad, iPhone and more recent iPod Touch models.Printing via Airprint AirPrint printing is seamless and 100 percent wireless. The iOS automatically locates and connects to AirPrint-enabled printers on your wireless network. AirPrint technology works with Safari, Mail, Photos, iWork, PDFs in iBooks, and third-party apps with built-in printing needs. Unfortunately not all printer manufacturers directly support AirPrint in their wireless printers for Mac and Apple handhelds. So select models of Canon and HP AirPrint capable printers are the best option for direct AirPrint printing support. Other printer makers require you run a special printing app on your iOS device and sort of 'print through' that app.
Sadly, Apple doesn't yet support AirPrint technology in it's PC and Mac wireless router AirPort base stations, a disappointing omission. However some clever Mac programs and hacks can allow iPad printing by what they call "Bridging". These apps allow your Apple gadget to bridge through a Mac computer that's live on the network to any avaliable shared printer its set up to print to.
